Tuft by tuft
Pulled by the cold night air
Like feathers, heat leaves our bedroom
On this winter’s night
Reaching down
A second blanket is found
Pulled up around the neck
Warmth enfolds, sleep returns

A gentle image of night cold Tom.
Heat leaving tuft by tuft, lovely expression.

Thank you, Teri. I don’t play with notions around heat, light, and sound often enough, although they enter my thoughts frequently.

Yes Tom, it is hard to find the right expression for thoughts that wander into our minds, just as it is difficult to give verbal shape to a feeling, but so rewarding when you manage it. Your night cold leaving like feathers, tuft by tuft, was lovely.
