Bleak Morning Reverie

November 5, 2012
——
Rain dripping slowly
Fallen leaves receive, glisten
Grace-filled solitude

A Late October Morn

October 28, 2012

———

Moon begins my day
Playfully bouncing light beams
Through frost-laden trees

Only one doctor for us

October 25, 2012

Visit to Retinalogist

Waiting room filled
Some impatient, antsy
Reading
Others dilated
Anxious or bored
Waiting

Doctor and technicians scurrying
Room to room
Pulling files
Scanning
Names called out
Doors opening and closing

Hundreds of patients for him
Work tedious
Repetitious
But only one doctor for us
Often dependent
Always grateful

Fall Fishing

October 2, 2012

A swirl down deep
Dark-green in the black water
An occasional flash
Sun striking the fish
Scales luminous
Magnifying

Blue-white line cuts the surface
Slashing a z-like pattern
Mimicking the frenzy below
Rod bending, resisting
Pulling in a beautiful creation
Quickly released
Vanishing into the darkness

Northern Lake: A Chorus of Color in Four Movements

August 29, 2012

— — —

Pink cloud band’s
Purple tone
Borne on liquid
Swells
Vanishes

Golden streak announcing
Sun rising
Clouds gathering
Sun dissolving
Gone

Then, faint
Faint gray
Faint gray waves
Emerging – a pulse
Morning

Now, pale
Yellowish-pink hues
Lake silver-blue
Calm
Nearly glass

Daybreak

July 23, 2012

A chorus of birds
Serenades the morning star
Distant train joins in
