Only one doctor for us

Visit to Retinalogist

Waiting room filled
Some impatient, antsy
Reading
Others dilated
Anxious or bored
Waiting

Doctor and technicians scurrying
Room to room
Pulling files
Scanning
Names called out
Doors opening and closing

Hundreds of patients for him
Work tedious
Repetitious
But only one doctor for us
Often dependent
Always grateful

    So true!

Lovely Tom ~ a Retina specialist appointment I presume? You can make anything into poetry dear friend ~ sounds like a special Ophthalmologist x

Yes, he is, And the whole experience is an exercise in vulnerability. Thirty or so people waiting with my being one of the younger and with the least debilitating affliction. Yet I remember how frightened I have been with the prospects … dim or not. (no pun intended)

Very nice. Poetry should be about real life. I am familiar with waiting rooms. Next time I’m in one I’ll pay more attention.

    Been there
    Done that
    Got the picture
    Or just part of it
    Half a smile
    Half a mile
    Down the hall
    Someone else must drive.
