One morning around 5:30 I walked down to the lake’s edge – just for the heck of it – and my mouth literally dropped open:
Island stands ablaze
Amidst a steamy pink fog
Lit by rising sun

I like your haiku and the others on this page (such as the quartet of haiku below). Keep up the fine writing. I am afraid my haiku will be dominated by thoughts of the summer heat for the next couple of months.

Thank you, Thomas. I am enjoying following your blog. And the heat here in St. Louis, plus lack of moisture, has us slowly baking away.
